June 27, 2024 Binus Online, through their Informatics Systems Department, has launched a new major program - Business Analytics, with a paramount goal to support the progress of digitalization in the modern era.
Understanding data and its implementation is an inherent challenge in building business processes in each line. It is crucial for the public to deeply understand the technology’s interpretation, including with regard to the education industry. Education is regarded as a highly significant channel in opening society’s far-reaching channels, responsive to technological advances and giving birth to future innovations.
Binus is well aware of the large-scale issues, and notice that within Indonesia, the modern era in education will face a significant transformation. Through Business Analytics concentration, academics will focus on mastering tools, data visualization and extreme high proficiency, hence mastership of analytical methods, such as prediction, risk management and predictive analysis.
At the program launch, Mr. Naoto Osada, the CEO of Transcosmos Commerce was trusted to be attendant, as a special guest star — introducing the importance of mastering Business Analytics from a business perspective to the audience.
The webinar’s topic of discussion focuses on Post-Merger Integration (PMI). PMI is in itself the final part of the M&A process, after implementing strategic planning, analysis, due diligence and negotiations. Even though the steps involved in implementing PMI can be determined via managerial knowledge, reality holds that many trial &error processes must transpire.
CEO Osada specified past PMI cases in the US, Thailand and Vietnam, and how he adapted the OODA Loop to accelerate essential findings in the PMI process. "In practice, we in the industry also have to go through a lot of trial-and-error processes, and this process leads us to some unique values that ultimately produce profits for us.” explained Naoto Osada, as Chief Executive Officer of Transcosmos Commerce.
Additionally, as explained by Dr. Agus Putranto., M.T., M.Sc, Head of Informatics System Department of Binus Online, “we’ve seen that Human Resources need to analyze data specifically for great decision making. We believe our new program, Business Analytics, can help the student provide this need.”
The event was attended by 260 people from students, alumni, practitioners to the general public. The obtained knowledge is expected to provide in-depth insights and open new perspectives —highlighting the contribution of technology in the modern world of work, and the importance of continuing to innovate and collaborate with various parties.
